What is giclée?
Giclée (pronounced zhe-clay) is derived from the French verb "gicler," meaning to spray or spurt. A giclée print is created through the process of spraying archival quality inks on to an archival quality substrate. Because of their beauty as well as their color permanence, giclée prints are being purchased and displayed by numerous collectors, museums and galleries. Photographers and other fine artists now have access to archival quality digital prints. Giclée prints allow an artist to produce a one-of-a-kind print from their digital file or produce a consistent limited edition of their creative work.
