With long, colorful tails that twitch like a pendulum, Motmots are charismatic. They epitomize tropical birds with their brilliant colors and red eyes. Found in Mexico to South America in humid forests and most shady habitats. The name “motmot” comes from its distinctive double-hoot call that carries throughout the forest.
